I have purchased a few things to make it easier to reload 300 blackout. I picked up a small chop saw from Harbor Freight and added a jig from vzep58. I also got a Sheridan slotted case gauge, but by far the most awesome tool that I have added is the Little Crow WFT trimmer. It makes quick work of the formed rough cut brass.

    That is a great saw.

I made 800 BLK cases using it. Ummm. Them.

The gears are made of molten butter and will likely wear out after 400 cases.

Save your receipt so you can get a new saw.

I ended up duct taping the handle/trigger in the on position so I would not damage the gears from all the sudden gear-grinding start and stops.

The Dead On trimmer is even better than the WFT.

    1) You don't need different trimmers for different calibers.

    2) The adjustment is a screw setup, so you can easily adjust very small increments. Think micrometer type.

Im trying to reload on the cheap right now. Great reviews on both products but damn they are pricey!

The chop saw and jig, setup properly, eliminate a lot of trimming time, so invest in that and do the final trim with what you have available... I use my Forster trimmer (manual) and it works just fine if you don't have to trim off too much after cutting.. ;)

I have the WFT from little crow works in a couple of calibers. However, having the mini chop saw and the 300 blackout jig saves a lot of prep time. Then I can sit back and watch TV while trimming 1000 or so cases. I love my WFT!

You are thinking of the 2 inch cut off saw.

The 6" cut off saw should be more than up to the task for rough cutting of 223/556 cases.

    Nope!

I'm certain I was thinking about what I was thinking about.

Here's a picture of the second 6 inch saw I was thinking about.

This 6 inch saw replaced the first POS 6 inch saw with the molten butter, sheared gears that I was thinking about.
