Range closest to Deep Creek

I'm going to Deep Creek for Memorial Day weekend with some friends that I often shoot with, and was wondering what the closest range to Deep Creek is, so that we can get in some range time while away.

Not sure where your place is. We have a house a couple of miles up Sang Run Road behind Wisp. The back roads are the easiest way to get to the range from McHenry:
From 219 Take Mosser Road east (only way you can go). Turn left when it dead ends at Rock Lodge Road. Take that north to 495 (the stop sign). Turn right and take 495 South. You'll see a sign for the state park before you get to New Germany Road. Turn left onto New Germany (only way you can). The range will be a few miles up on the right . You can't miss it.

Take a staple gun to mount your targets on the stands. I've tried duct tape, but it doesn't stick to the rubber on the stands very well.

It's been a looong time since I was up there, but there used to be a public range at the New Germany State Park, about 20 min from the lake.

Just an update on this range; spent a week at DCL. Went to the range on Wednesday. J8064's directions were spot on, thank you very much indeed! The range was fine. No one there when I got there, about 5 other groups arrived in the 2 hours I was there. The place was clean, the other shooters were very friendly. Great place if you are out that way.

Don't forget to stop in at the park office and pick up a permit. Its a little farther north on New Germany Road.
