    But, WAIT, there's more ...

    El Chapo found with Fast and Furious .50 caliber as exec-privilege claim quashed

    House Oversight chair Jason Chaffetz noted that the order didn’t give access to all of the documents sought in House subpoenas, but that “it is an important step forward.” The discovery of a .50 caliber in El Chapo’s lair provided courtesy of the Department of Justice might be another step forward in galvanizing public opinion to finally bring the sordid history of Fast and Furious completely into the light.

    Was it engraved with "From Obama With Love" ?

    Just like referenced in the movie sicario. One dominant group keeps things in line and violence down. Or like sylandra picking winners and loosers except people's life's are involved in this.

    This has to be the longest running 'National 2A Issues' thread on MDS ...

    Court overturns order keeping 'Fast and Furious' documents secret

    A federal appeals court on Friday overturned a lower court ruling that kept a lid on a handful of documents related to a lawsuit from Congress over the Obama administration’s botched “Fast and Furious” operation.

    The ruling does not necessarily mean that the eight documents will be released. Instead, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D. C. Circuit merely referred the matter back to a lower court to seek clarity about another judge’s order.

    Judicial Watch sued. Another district court judge ruled in favor of the government in 2014.

    In Friday’s ruling, however, the three-judge panel on the appeals court claimed that Jackson did not make an “explicit” request to “prohibit disclosure” of the documents when she ordered the mediation in 2013. Instead, she merely claimed that “I don’t want to know.”

    And it looks like this thread will keep going for another 6+ years ...

    As Issa chimes in ...

    Rep. Issa Says Barack Obama Still Blocking ‘Fast and Furious’ Investigation

    Unfortunately, the President has not yet fully complied with Congressional subpoenas. I am pleased to learn that the House of Representatives is continuing to prosecute the legal case against the President’s claim of executive privilege until all documents related to the Fast and Furious investigation have been delivered

    Operation Slow and Tedious drags on

    Good summary from The Firearms Coalition via AmmoLand.com -
    ‘Fast and Furious’ Becomes ‘Slow and Tedious’

    The recent document dump supports speculation that then-Attorney General Eric Holder knew more about the ill-conceived gunwalking operation than he has claimed, and that he and other high-level DOJ officials actively worked to conceal details of the operation from Congress and the public. Emails released earlier in the investigation indicate that White House adviser Valerie Jarrett gave guidance in the coverup, but so far, none of the recent documents provide a direct link to the White House.

    If it weren't for the work of citizen-journalists, David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh, with Vanderboegh noticing an off-hand comment on a BATF employee gripe site then following up on it, the whole Fast and Furious scandal might have never been made public. So, I'll still take slow and tedious if it finally leads to the conviction of at least Eric 'The Red' Holder, if not the whole White House cabal who dreamed up, then covered up this scheme in the first place.

    Never happen. People like Hillary, Holder, and Frosh can break the law with impunity and never get so much as a wrist slap. All of them have made public comments admitting to committing felonies, and nothing will ever come of it.

    An excellent recap with a few new details

    NYPost.com -
    The scandal in Washington no one is talking about

    A federal judge has forced the release of more than 20,000 pages of emails and memos previously locked up under President Obama’s phony executive-privilege claim. A preliminary review shows top Obama officials deliberately obstructing congressional probes into the border gun-running operation.

    But thanks to the court order, Justice has to cough up the “sensitive” documents. So far it’s produced 20,500 lightly redacted pages, though congressional investigators say they hardly cover all the internal department communications under subpoena. They maintain the administration continues to “withhold thousands of documents.”

    Their efforts to impede investigations included:
    • Devising strategies to redact or otherwise withhold relevant information;
    • Manipulating media coverage to control fallout;
    • Scapegoating the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for the scandal.
    For instance, a June 2011 e-mail discusses withholding ATF lab reports from Congress, and a July 2011 e-mail details senior Justice officials agreeing to “stay away from a representation that we’ll fully cooperate.”

    Talking points drafted for Holder and other brass for congressional hearings made clear that Justice intended to make ousted ATF officials the fall guys for the scandal.

    In an October 2011 e-mail to his chief of staff, moreover, Holder stated that he agreed with a strategy to first release documents to friendly media “with an explanation that takes the air out” of them, instead “of just handing them over” to Congress.

    “Calculated efforts were made by senior officials to obstruct Congress,” Chaffetz fumed.

    And then there's THIS little tidbit at the end ...

    Obama insists Fast and Furious is just another “phony” scandal whipped up by Republicans to dog his presidency. What does his heir apparent Hillary Clinton think?

    The anti-gun zealot has been silent on the gun-proliferation scandal. But then, she’s been busy sweeping subpoenaed e-mails under the rug of her own scandal.
