I keep seeing PPU .40 JHP for substantially cheaper than other JHPs - on par with FMJ ammo in some cases. That makes my spidey-sense tingle, as I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for." Doing some internet research, I'm seeing mixed reviews - some folks say it's great, some say it's horrible. Some report problems with expansion and say it's good range ammo but not for carry. So I'm curious if anybody has used any and what you thought.

I've done some preliminary testing since I started seeing it at wal-mart

The powder runs clean, the ammunition is consistent and well manufactured. The lead inside the jacket is also DEAD SOFT, and so far I haven't seen any of the ones I've recovered fail to expand in water, wetpack, or jello remnants (the blocks have been obliterated, I only have leavings left)

If you're worried about it, you can easily expand the hollow point.
