Are there any PPC shooting events for civilians coming up in the near future?

    Thanks,
    Trey

I was under the impression that NRA-sanctioned PPC is for law enforcement and retirees only as the Fudds on Walples Mill Road can't bear the thought of having civilian shoot human silhouette targets.

Try IPSC/USPSA, IDPA or NRA Action Pistol if action shooting is your thing.

Yep - you could even be a NRA Live member & they will shut you out of the competition and run you off the range if you are not an LEO.

Funny, your NRA life membership money still goes to fund NRA PPC.

Further, the NRA is THE source of this commonly-seen range rule: "No humanoid or torso-shaped targets allowed!" They also push the "no holsters" and "no rapid fire" rules through their so-called "range safety consultants."

Actually, the above is not true.

There are regular monthly matches which are open to the public at Lebanon, PA and Quarryville, PA.

The one in Lebanon is NRA sanctioned and allows civilian NRA members to participate. I think recently, even the NRA membership requirement has been lifted. The match schedule is the 2nd sat of every month. Lebanon County Police Combat Pistol Club sponsors this match. Call Robert Dziak, 570-579-6214, rdziak62@gmail.com

The one in Quarryville is at Southern Lancaster County Farmers Sportsmens Assoc. These matches are NOT sanctioned and loosely follows match guidelines. It's closer to where I am in MD and good for practice. Match schedule is 1st sat of every month from Apr to Oct. Contact John Groff (717) 529-6789.
