Firearm Rights Group To Fly Aerial Banner Over Maryland Statehouse On General Assembly Session’s Final Day
Today, firearms rights activists including the well-known PATRIOT PICKET demonstration group will be sending a towed aerial banner over the Maryland Statehouse for 90 minutes starting at 12 noon to confront the Democrat legislature about gun bills that are seen only as punishment for law abiding citizens.
The tow-plane banner will read: “#We Will Not Comply! How About You Larry?”
This airborne messaging is a continuation of the “We Will Not Comply!” demonstrations on the sidewalks at the Statehouse in Annapolis during this session.
This campaign has drawn national attention because of the hundreds of demonstrators wearing shirts that say “We Will Not Comply!” The shirts have been seen regularly during the 2019 legislative session.
This project is the brainchild of James Grose, a Patriot Picket member and Vice President of The Frederick County Conservative Club. “I’ve run into so many roadblocks trying to get our firearms rights messages out on social media, including Facebook, about Maryland Democrat legislators punishing firearm owners with laws that do nothing to reduce crime”, said Mr. Grose. “This is costing me a lot of money, but many others feel the same way and are helping with the cost. As far as we know flying a political message over the Statehouse has never been done before”.
The aerial banner protest is designed not only to pressure legislators but Governor Hogan as well, who has the power to veto this punishing legislation if it passes.
Firearm owners remain angry that Governor Hogan signed the controversial Red Flag Law last session, which has already taken the life of one Maryland resident who misunderstood a firearms confiscation action against him -- an action that firearms groups contend is unconstitutional.
