First time visit for me to Cabelas Delaware today as I was in the area. If anyone is heading up there Sunday.....

Nothing in the way of the more universal pistol powders. W231/HP38, Bullseye, Titegroup, Power Pistol, Unique, et al were all unobtanium. None of the dots for the shotgunners and/or handgun crossovers. On the slow burning side, they had some Lil Gun, and probably 20 pounds of H110 and W296.

    On the rifle side:

Alliant...very sparse. Small amount of Reloder 7. May have been a pound or two of Reloder 19. Nothing else that I recall. Definitely No 10 or 15.

Hodgdon: H414 was on the shelf. Also a good amount of CFE223. Some H380. Good stock on hand of H335. Some H322 also. Retumbo and Longshot and BL-C2 as well. No Varget.

IMR:3031 and 4895 were available. A jug of 4350. Did not see any 4064. A few others. Several of the newer IMR offerings also...a pound or two each.

Winchester: both 748 and 760 on the shelf.

    Accurate: a few varieties....all rifle I believe.

    Are prices dropping fairly quickly?

It's all about supply and demand in "most" cases, there are other
causes, shifting production, factory issues, hording, etc.

Some prices are stabilizing as certain ones become readily available
and even dropping in price. It also depends on "how bad you need it".
Several online places as well as Brick and Mortar have powders and the
prices to go with the availability. Some online places run specials sometimes
free shipping or will for go the Haz-Mat fee "if" you buy a certain amount, in
this case you can be "creative". So with that said yes and no.

Buy in bulk if "we" can...

Can't see that URL from work. "Web (non)sense" installed on system.

I recently got (2) 1 lb. containers of W-231 that a friend picked up, in Fredericksburg. New (recently manufactured) powder.

I was in Riner, VA a few weeks ago, at a small gunshop. His shelves were loaded with powder, including W-231 and HP38. (Not one pound of Unique, though!)

The S&W forum is mentioning this also. Regardless if the rumor is true or false, finding HP38/W231 at the time you might need some has been like finding hen's teeth for a couple of years now. And when you're able to find pistol powder, and some rifle powders also, you're hard pressed to find the same powder twice. LOTS of load development and very little certainty with much of anything component related the last couple of years. It's better one can argue than it was 2 years ago, but it sure isn't the good old days. New normal maybe.......:sad20:

Thanks! One thing is for sure....this rumor will do nothing to help with HP38/W231 availability in particular, or pistol powder generally.
