Of course, even paranoids get followed once in awhile, but infowars is the center of the universe for conspiracy theories and bi-yearly Armageddon claims. They're right about as often as Nancy Pelosi is.

I am trying to verify this information that I received in an email. Has anyone else read this or heard this from any reliable news source?

Postal Service Announces Giant Ammo Purchase February 6, 2014

Post Office joins other federal agencies stockpiling over two billion rounds of ammo (Info Wars) – The U.S. Postal Service is currently seeking companies that can provide “assorted small arms ammunition” in the near future. The U.S. Postal Service joins the long list of non-military federal agencies purchasing large amounts of ammunition. On Jan. 31, the USPS Supplies and Services Purchasing Office posted a notice on theFederal Business Opportunities websiteasking contractors to register with USPS as potential ammunition suppliers for a variety of cartridges.

Could one of our NRA Reps validate this info as either true or false?

just applying a little common sense would lead one to believe this is bs. 1) what is the post office going to do with a bunch of ammo and 2) they are operating in the red and can barely afford to keep the lights on. where are they going to get the money to pay for it?

Tin foil hat on: Perhaps such purchases are made in behalf of "other entities" so as to confuse the numbers. :innocent0

    USPS is not DHS

DHS REQ'D TO REPORT AMMO PURCHASES ------>to Congress

    USPS IS NOT

Thus if they're buying more than they actually need In order to artificially manipulate the market...they arent accountable in the same ws DHS is AFTER the public hue and cry when DHS looked like they were trying to corner the market

    .......

They are starting a check cashing service, and need to arm all the tellers.

The Postal Inspectors and Postal Police need to train and qualify like any agencies.

For today's trivia , the Postal Inspectors are the oldest Federal LE agency , predating even the US Marshall service.

Easy enough to check, here it is:

BTW Postal Inspection Service employs about 4000 people. 1200 are criminal investigators and another 1000 are uniformed police so at least 2200 of them carry weapons. The USPS Office of Inspector General also has LE personnel, though they are budgeted and administered separately from the rest of USPS. Not sure if they would be using the same ammo contracts.
