    Are you painting the metal or just the stock? If you're going with blued steel, I like the look of gray furniture.

    If you're open to painting the metal, I'd recommend OD green for the metal and then green/brown/black for the furniture. You can get a pretty good approximation of marpat with sea sponges.

    During the riots last year, I saw some yellow/green non-lethal shotguns used by BPD. I would think that the coloration of those would be standardized.

    The zombie-green coloring would be appropriate given the location and nature of the threats in that scenario.

    You could coat it with the black matte, then while it is still tacky, back off and “dust” it with the OD. It leaves a very slightly rough speckle surface that tones down the black. It sort of looks like the black is getting moldy. I've also done the reverse on a Mossberg 500: coat with OD first then dust with the black. That tones down the OD a little. Maybe practice on a piece of pipe first because it is very easy to over-do the dusting.
