As the title stats my friend is looking for personal protection in the way of a Taser. She leaves work late at night and takes the bus or has to wait for someone to pick her up which would make it later then taking a bus. The main catch of this is this would be leaving from Montgomery College which has a no weapons policy/law. I am at a bit of a loss as to a good suggestion for her. I would love to hear good suggestions from everyone on what she can do.
My wife works at MC and often hast the evening shift, 2 to 10, I got her some pepper spray and she has a car. I still worry about her.
Try the Kimber Pepper Blaster. Not the cheapest, but the testing convinced me that it wouldn't lose pressure over time.
Are tasers legal to be carried in Baltimore County?
+1 for a cane and some classes on how to use it.
Just out of curiosity, anybody here under age of 60, who carries a cane with the sole purpose of self-defense?

Many great suggestions here, but the NUMBER ONE easiest, least expensive option here is probably also the most effective in the short term.
She needs to immediately call the Office of Safety & Security & place a request for a standing daily "escort service" (their words).
It's already been suggested, but it bears repeating, & here's the info from the school website:

Once that's in place, follow up with the RTBAV class, and other self defense options & training. Even if a person is not athletic, or is in generally poor physical condition, there are things they can do to protect themselves, starting with attitude & posture, as has been suggested, to more active engagement techniques.
