I've been a rebel most of my life, having challenged unjust laws when it was appropriate. However, this time is different & the stakes seem much higher. The thought of the AG, MSP, or local LEO's deciding to enforce this unconstitutional law is borderline spooky.

Perhaps it's from reading stories about unfair/illegal confiscations or about peoples' homes being stormed, but I've had dreams about the law showing up, shooting my dogs, shooting me, & taking my guns. That's a real possibility.

I say go after the AG & MSP by legally challenging the HQL requirement if is not in place on 10/1, which then hinders my ability to lawfully purchase a handgun.

The MSP never stated it was ok. They stated they would not prosecute. "Not Guilty" doesn't equal "Innocent".

And while we're on that subject, you realize the MSP have NO authority to decide who is and is not prosecuted, right? That's the point being made here. MSP saying you can pick up without a HQL has no legal authority behind it. It's not their call.

I've got nothing to say about integrity...it's a choice for the individual to make.

Well said. My family is going to hold off until after all the SB281/lawsuits are worked out into stone; it isn't worth the risk simply to avoid the HQL.

As a side-note, look at what happened with the lead investigator for Zimmerman's trial: he was forced to pursue the arrest and trial despite his personal belief that Zimmerman was telling the truth. All this is going to do is force a lot of good cops to go after a lot of good (but confused) gun owners because Annapolis wants to crack down.

It is no slight against your character to resist such a law. Just because a legislature which is misguided by a liberal ideology passes a law does not make it immoral to ignore it. That said, there can be serious consequences in doing so, and you need to determine if it is worth it to you.

MSP is not a legal authority. They are bound to following the guidance of the AG. If MSP says something contrary to the AG, they are not in compliance with the law.

If it is true that the AG's opinion trumps MSP's COMAR Codified language that was voted on by the Legislators on 9/23. You may need to refile four (4) additional forms that coincide with the HQL.
