Question was just asked: Wouldn't licensing trample 2nd Amendment rights?

    Answer: There is overwhelming support.

    W T F

There used to be overwhelming support for segregation and Jim Crow laws in parts of the country too. Didn't make it right then either.

The whole license thing just sounds like another layer of paperwork barriers to make getting a gun more difficult and expensive to the man on the street. As someone who just bought my first gun I was amazed at the amount of paperwork required... I think the mortgage had fewer pages :)

I'm misunderstanding the process I guess. We elect Delagates, based on County or Counties (population driven), then one person try's to ram through his own agenda, based on what the "public" wants?

If they can't just get rid of guns, they'll make it as a big a PITA as possible just to keep people from bothering.

Go NOW ! This effects everyone. Just write that you do not support any further restrictions to law abiding gun owners. A few points to help you.

Criminals buy guns ILLEGALLY. Licensing law abiding citizens does nothing to prevent criminals from buying or stealing guns on the street.

Magazine limits only impede law abiding citizens from defending themselves when facing multiple attackers. Criminals do not care if a magazine is illegal, they are buying the entire gun illegally.

No one was killed with an "assault weapon" last year or several years prior, what will further restrictions prevent?

There're half a dozen building lots in my neighborhood in Delta, PA, only a mile from Harford County. Just saying. :-)

I just got off the phone with Senator Dyson's secretary. She didn't know about the press conference but told me they are getting inundated with emails and calls about gun legislation. She said that unless you put your address in the email they will not respond to it. She says that they want to respond to their constituents, but have know idea where people are from without an address. I told her that I do not support any new gun legslation, and if the legislation passes I will stay in MD long enough to vote against everyone that supported it, and then move out of state.

Welcome to the Peoples Democratic Socialist Republik of Maryland.

    :mad54:

Glendenning did the same thing when he rammed though his gun ban. He forces is though by bringing in fence sitters from the legislature in one and twos, sitting them down, and threatening to cut off funding to their districts if they didn't go along with his scheme. I expect no less than similar strong armed blackmailing from O'Malley....
