    I may have to head up there and try the 500 range then. I have an sps tactical that is be been wanting to shoot at distance. Does anyone know if they let steel gongs on the 500yd range or just soft targets?

    They have a steel plate up there. They also give you a paper target. I didn't like the paper target because it was black and I couldn't see the hits so I shot the steel. They paint it white so you can see your impacts on the steel. They don't let you put random targets on that one.. At least that was the rule last time.

    I wonder if they're going to have the 500 yard line opened up for us, 300 is nice, but 500 would be nicer.

    The 500 will be open. The are supposed to have a covered structure built by then on the 500 if I understood them correctly. I wish they had more than 2 positions though. Problem is I don't think they will want me hitting their steel with the 50... It will make holes lol

    Just ordered 40 rounds for the mule too :D

    I'll be glad to send some rounds at their steel, it's just a .260 afterall.

    This year I'll decide NOT to stand by the muzzle as you light the mule off, it took almost a week before I was hearing right again...

    I'm still dumbfounded you did that...

    :lol2::lol2::lol2:

    You did get your hat back, though. :D

    This is me, so logic and sound-decision making is optional.

    Those 4 nice looking women that were pulling the trigger had absolutely nothing to do with me standing by the muzzle. :innocent0

    Powder burns to the arms and short-lived hearing damage - worth it. :D

    Only two lanes for the 500yd targets? Ugh! Is trigger time managed or do peeps stay in the lane 'til they are done?

    Its usually empty on the 500 since they charge extra. My assumption is also that since its not with the rest of the firing line and doesn't usually have a RSO they don' t want too many shooting at it. Plus the berm is small. 1 steel plate and 1 target stand so no other room. They will take you down range in teh Polaris and also give you a target. I recommend buying a big shoot n see target because the one they give you is black and i couldn't see a single shot in it. Trigger time isn't managed, but like I said. I haven't ever seen anyone shoot it. I was the only one last time I was there.

    Thanks! Just worried about getting there and not getting a lot of time on the line.
