It isn't looking good for NY gun owners at the moment.
And if that isn't bad enough, our turn in the hot seat is coming up.

Joe Saladino (in the background) is one of the guys that should be listening hear, and he's chatting away with his buddy.

Edit: Now it's his turn... and it almost sounds like he is trying to put the bill down... but poorly.

Edit2: Good point on mental health reporting, and how people in need will not seek treatment due to fear of prosecution... getting better.

Only question is when will the SAF (or another org) go after this? Before or after SCOTUS rules on one of the cases already at its doorstep.

Did anyone expect this not to pass?

The assembly was a gone conclusion, but I expected the Republican majority in the state Senate to show some backbone and not just roll over. At least negotiate some of the regulations into "reasonable" territory.

10 round mags are OK but you can only load them to 7? Ridiculous. It's like no one even read it.

Sorry im a little late. What passed?

Their local AWB. Got pushed through in under 24 hours even with a majority Republican in the state congress. A few highlights:

    - No new "assault weapons", old ones are grandfathered in and have to be registered with the state, selling involves out-of-state only
    - 7 round limit on mags, anything larger needs to be forfeited or sold out of state
    - Background checks on ammo which will probably be used to end online sales, and alerts on "large purchases" of ammo to LEOs
    - New requirements to purchase, I believe there's some sort of licensing required

What they don't get is there are many republicans and democrats on both side that love their second amendment rights, many politicians SHALL get the boot come election time. Tyranny is alive and well in NY now.
