NRA lifetime membership

Does the NRA still do the lifetime memberships for $300 if referred by a lifetime member? If they still do this, any lifetime members want to sponsor me? My membership is expiring soon. I want to go lifetime without breaking the bank. I know they have a monthly plan but $1000 is still a good chunk o' change.

The $300 Lifetime Membership upgrade special comes & goes best I can tell. Not sure if it is active right now or not. But if you can find a reference to the upgrade program, I'd be glad to sponsor you or anyone else who would like to upgrade. PM me if you find it and are interested.

On 10/29/2012 I called in via phone to get a NRA lifetime membership for my younger sister's Xmas gift (I am myself a life member). I said I would happily pay $300 for my sister's life membership, but higher than that was more Xmas gift than I was planning to give this year. NRA was very cooperative in helping me to pay them $300.

I've been slacking on this. I finally called NRA today. I was told they can still do the $300 for lifetime membership if sponsored by a LT member. They told me I just need the name and address of a LT member. I asked if I could just give them a LT membership number but was told they can look up the number from name and address. Guess they don't want just anybody doing this. Any lifetimers want to sponsor me? I know addresses are very private to some but if you don't mind sending a PM my way with the info. Thanks.
