New Holland uspsa shoot

Shooting in my first Uspsa shoot going to just run my 1911. I don't have very high expectations for my score but it gives me a reason to get out and shoot. Also hoping to meet some new like minded people who love guns and the gun sport.

just do your best and enjoy the experience. Everyone has their first match so don't put a lot of pressure on yourself. Let us know what you thought of it

Looking forward to it my friend is a member up there and he took me shooting there on Monday. Shot about 250 rounds and realized how out of practice I am. Of course all I have ever done is punch holes in paper before. This will be my first competition of any kind.

just remember the two big safety issues - finger outside triggerguard while doing everything (including reloading) but actually shooting, and keep muzzle pointed downrange (and definitely not past the 180 degree line) at all times including reloading.

if you have a stage where you can go r-l or l-r, if you're right-handed you generally want to go l-r so that when you reload your muzzle is naturally pointed downrange.
