I am relatively new to Maryland, Maryland Shooters, and will be the new owner of a Kahr MK9 once the MSP approve the purchase.

Well, I moved from one anti-state to another. Maryland is however a slight improvement.

I have a financial services practice (1099). I work primarily with small business owners and am not always familiar with the areas that I travel to and through. I am not sure if my profession gets the nod from MSP for CCW. Does anyone have an incite on this? As you may guess wearing a business suit in certain areas of Baltimore make me more than a little nervous.

I know there is some discussion going on about changing MD to Shall Issue. What do you think are the chances of this happening soon? How can I get active in this community at meet other like minded individuals?

You made kind of a lateral move from NY, but slightly better.;)

As for the CCW, good luck.

Except for the handgun carry permit, MD is a MAJOR improvement on NY laws.

First two thing to get in MD that would be a good idea to get are the MD designated collectors status and the sperate C&R FFL in order to better deal with out ******** laws.

    Welcome aboard.

Best way to get involved is to sign up here. You've already dones that, so the next step would be to meet some of your fellow gun owners. Check out the thread on our next big event down at Delmarva on the beautiful eastern shore of Maryland. I promise you'll have a great time and meeting some of us knuckleheads in person helps take the roughness off of the edges of our posts.
