A dreary evening with time on my hands got me motivated to post some pics of my latest find. I've enjoyed reading about all these cool new C&Rs showing up around here so I wanted to come and party too. It's an M-27 Finn dated 1928 with ski attachment. The one piece walnut stock has the English Contract cartouche. The sling came with it. It has some oddities about it. One is the "carving" in the wood, just behind the tang. Can any one spot the other unusual characteristic? Thanks for looking.:)

    Great M27! LOVE IT!!

Unusual in that it has an early stock and two piece nosecone?

Yep, the front nosecap piece is from an early two piece M28 nose cap. The front piece of a two piece M-27 nosecap is attached without the two screws.

I'm really getting slow. I looked at that nose cap over and over last night. Even pulled my M27 "ski trooper" from the safe as it's identical to jindodog's and still didn't get it. Knew H2U would come along and enlighten me!
BTW, congrats on another great Finn find!!
