Need to start shooting my .308AR...

Hey fellas, I have a tiny, first-world conundrum...been wanting a suppressor for awhile and just recently accrued enough cash to get one...however, this .308 has not been shot since I function fired it years ago and it no longer has an optic either. So as much as I would love to get the suppressor, this rifle would stay sitting silently in my safe.
If I do decide to spend the cash of this rifle, here's what i'm thinking...

1. New optic -- maybe Arken EP5 or Vortex Strike Eagle/Gen 2 Viper PST
2. New handguard -- not really digging the Daniel Defense rail anymore and quad rail really isn't useful to me
3. New Trigger Group -- probably Timney
4. Have barrel cut back to either 20" or 22"
5. New adjustable gas block for when I do get a suppressor

Any other thoughts on this?
