I finally decided to get a Mosin Nagant today and I can't say how much I really love it. Next purchase will be a SKS. Thanks to yellowsled for his help in educating me.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I really like these stuff. I think it all started with the M1 and M14.

    Now to find SKS

On top of taking candy from babies and buying large lots of C&R guns so not to leave any for others, I also don't hold the door open for women that are following me into a building.

Whats the best way to clean up that stuff? Doesn't it harden after a while?

Everyone has their own method. I used boiling H2O on the steel and the cosmo just disappeared. Then hit the barrel and receiver with hoppes 9, wacked it with a brass brush, mop, patches and lightly oiled. Only used a few old dry t-shirts to wipe down the stock 25+ times. Worked for me.
