Since I put on the Crimson Trace it created challenges in finding holsters, so I decided to try making some Kydex. It's pretty fun to work with. Easy to make your piece, harder to make it look good.
I made one of the small trigger guards and a full size pocket holster.
I still have to do some fine sanding, but I'm pretty happy with the results.

Now I want to make holsters for everything in the house!

Where would one come across a sheet or two of this?

I'm interested in attempted to make a kydex single mag pouch.

Finally...cheaper to make your own or just buy one?

I spent about $60 for a few sheets of Kydex, the grommets, and the shaping foam. Now that I have grommets, grommet tool and the foam, I just have to buy the sheets of Kydex for $5 a sheet.
So far, I have made 3 projects that I've seen retail for a total of $55, and I've only used about 3/4 of a sheet.
I already had a heat gun.

Just read the 'how-to' looks great, after my beer making kit gets started, I think this is my next little project.

Curious, why did you not go with the concealex over kydex?
I have a couple kydex holsters already, I know it's great stuff, never seen concealex.

    Thanks!

*edit* I think here is a good discussion on the differences between the two
