Must I register my handguns ?

Just moved to Maryland do I have to register my handguns, purchased will living in PA.

One of the exemptions for HQL training is the lawful ownership of a regulated firearm, so I wonder what MSP would do if you try to use one of your unregistered handguns as proof of ownership, and they determine that you moved to the state after October 1.
