Military Arms Channel Found Problems With Rem R51

The Military Arms Channel discovered a defect in the Remington R51.

New R51 came into the shop. The rear sight can be pushed without tools and it's nearly impossible to work the slide. This is worse than the SHOT Show guns I handled.

I do that with most any new gun. Let other people figure out the issues and let the manufacturer solve them. If they don't then pass. If they do then pick one up or wait for a used one and save some cash.

I must love ugly guns because I liked the look and thought it might make a good carry gun but you don't need problems with a carry gun so I'm passing until I see a lot of better reviews.

No sir. Everything about that gun screams 1970s SciFi, and I'm just not into that.

I was thinking the same thing.....every company has a mistake once in a while.

Ford had the Edsel.
Coke had New Coke.


It's Remington's turn. I imagine after the success of their 1911, they rushed another pistol into production. Once refined, it will probably be a neat little pistol....but, like others have said, the first year product is usually a bust.

As with any Remington product, make sure they work the bugs out first.

I was interested in this, like the phaser like design. But .380 really turns me off
