In addition to seeing some of our usual winter birds (Juncos, WT Sparrows) 2 to 3 weeks ahead of their typical appearance, on Monday we spotted a pair of Ruddy Ducks off the shore of Downs Park, in Pasadena.

The Great Chesapeake Duck Slick is a-coming ;)

We saw some Palm Warblers about a month ago, probably on the southward run, as well.

Took an unplanned jaunt to Tilghman Is yesterday... no migrants there yet.

I saw a few Juncos myself on Saturday in Severn. Seemed early because it was still unseasonably warm, but I'm not sure they really are early.

I was down by Blackwater yesterday and didn't see any new ducks, just a few small groups of geese flying by that could be resident. There were a few hundred geese in the fields of Key Wallace Rd, in spite of the giant eagle replicas. No telling whether they were resident birds or new arrivals.

No Juncos in Davidsonville yet. I have noticed that my resident crop of Cardinals, Chickadees and wood peckers seem to have left this year. I've never had my bird feeders unused like this. I think this does not bode well for us this winter. :omg:

I did not fill my feeders at all this summer only filling two of them as of a week or so ago. Very little activity to begin with but certainly picking up. I have counted upwards of 25 cardinals at one time on my feeders and in the surrounding trees/bushes. Pretty cool sight. I hope they come back...

If the geese looked like they knew where they were going, Local geese. If they were flying around in circles, as if lost, Yankee geese.

My benchmark for White Throats is Hallowe'en, give or take a few days. Juncos, I usually see a week after that. We saw both on the same day, 3 weeks ago. Kinglets are in force as well.

Starlings are flocking up, but no large numbers of geese yet.

More birds starting to show up.

Today we had both Greater and Lesser Scaup, Redhead Duck, Ring Necked Duck, and a couple Pied Billed Grebes.

Still researching, but I'm about 99.2% certain ;) about a Red Necked Phalarope at Patuxent Research South.

I was down sick for the past week, but we got out a little Monday...

More Ruddy Duck off Downs Park, along with Scaup (but hard to call Gr or Le)...

Over at Ft. Smallwood, we saw our first Bufflehead of the season, along with a WAY early Common Loon.

I keep my birdfeeder stocked with black sunflower seeds. Cardinals and House Finches stick around all year. Junkos, Carolina Wrens and Mockingbirds showed up about a month ago. Had 3 broods of Bluebirds this year after I declared war on the House Sparrows.

Our hummingbirds, catbirds, and chipping sparrows are long gone. Replacing them are white-throated sparrows, juncos, and a periodic brown creeper.

I wonder if I saw a brown creeper a couple weeks ago. I was in a tree stand and I could see something small climbing up a tree. It just didn't seem like a nut hatch because it never turned upside down and it wasn't a woodpecker.
I do have some cool game camera video of 2 adult and 2 juvenile bald eagles, alongside of buzzards eating the guts from a deer I got last month.
