I don't think YellowSled would mind if I started with just a barreled action.

This is the picture that inspired me.

Really enjoyed reading about the event on this thread and seeing all the pics. Would loved to have gone there with you all, but I just had the rotator cuff repaired on Mar 28th and my left arm is still pretty useless for now. Hopefully next time as it looked/sounded like a real blast (pun intended, of course!)

I love Mosins, only have three, an ex-sniper round 91/30, a Hex 91/30 and and M44. Wish I had the plans to convert the ex-sniper into something like what you did it looks like a fun shooter.

Did you follow a build plan or just a idea of what you wanted.

My rule has been if I'm going to buy it then I'm going to shot it.

I plan on doing this every spring as long as the interest is there :)

I vote for a Spring, Summer and Fall :D . That was an amazing experience [Ok my first outdoor range trip so I'm still tingling ].. Also it was nice not jumping everytime someone else fired [well, that .50 cal made me jump if I was closer than 2 lanes away..]

The picture of the Anti-Tank rifle gave me the crazy idea.

The plans are inside my head.

One other neat aspect of the rifle is that the receiver tang is stamped/dated as an "Antique Firearm" even though the barrel is stamped 1942.

Me too except summer at an outdoor range can be brutal. But I agree should do it more often. It was nice meeting some of you!

Summer bridge traffic is brutal too.

Saturday AM after 8 and Sunday afternoon after 4 or so.

If you can get to and over before 8, you pretty much have a clear ride to DSC arriving around/before 9 - which would be great for a day of shooting. The Saturday afternoon ride westbound is pretty light.

I went 2 summer Saturdays in 2013. If you stay late, the sun will be in your face, don't forget sunscreen.
