I'm new to the MD CC discussion and I have some rookie questions:

I read about one of the ongoing lawsuits (forget which) in which MD claims a high percentage of CC application approvals.

But since they pre-disapprove us with the requirement for documented threats, assaults, etc., don't only those almost guaranteed to be approved even apply at all? Doesn't this skew the percentages in the state's favor?

If everyone who wanted to CC in MD actually applied, and they still only approved those who were already victims, wouldn't that show a more true percentage of denials?

    Is that about right?

What happens when someone without the documentation applies? (I was planning to before coming up against this requirement.) Are they summarily disapproved simply because they are not (yet) a victim?

BINGO. Most people don't have the extra money to donate to the state to be disapproved, so the MSP's numbers aren't accurate by any means.

If MD shooters/MSI ever put together a group apply to highlight this flawed statistic I would apply just to be denied to help the cause if it was decided by the aforementioned to be a good move for our side.

Me 3. If I thought enough would apply just to get denyed. Then have some good change come of it.
I would gladlly donated my $114.00 or so fee.
Problem is it would take a lot of those "donations" to happen at the right time to bring attention to the problem.:)

I am sorry, I thought it was 360 or about that to apply?
I have not looked in awhile what did I miss?

I'm with you here. Even knowing I'd be disapproved, I'd apply just to help make the point. Money does not come easy, but I have no problem spending it on a worthwhile cause.

I recommend you read up on the Woolard case thread - The state basically conceded to the judge their permitting scheme is built to reduce the number of permit holders. Taking this into consideration, the value will be greater if your money was delivered to MSI or SAF.

I agree but it might also be nice to have an application in the system when a verdict is handed down. Could lead to an expedited approval.

OT: With your signature, I'd guess you were either a former SP/SF or Combat Arms. Close?

Negative. 20834G - Far East Cryptologic Linguist Specialist - Korean.

My outlook is firearms are tools and as such, each has a job to which it is suited.
