    I read tgat New York of all places cut there budget for the handgun case registration program. MD is the only one now w/ this requirement. Do you think ours would be cut soon (1 year or 2) following NY's decision. If this thread has been discussed let me know

    I am pretty sure MD's is unfunded. Tha state police are storing the fired cases in 55 Gal drums someplace. They are not be entered into a database of any kind.

    :mad54: It really just makes it harder to buy new guns from anywhere cuz you need a empty case. They fund it by selling the cases as once fired probably.

    iirc Ehlrich had it defunded because it never solved a crime.

    Its still in the law though and unless NY repeals the law I think it'll be in the law there too just unfunded.

    I thought the MSP begged the legislature to repeal the law long ago, but of course the politicians wouldn't do that, because then they'd be "soft on gun crime."

    If it saves one kitten, it's worth it.
