Magpul MOE handguard

Anyone have them? I need to know if its possible to offset my eotech (512) over the handguard since it does not have rails on the top.
I'm having a magnifier with flip to side mount along with the EoTech and the receiver has limited real estate.
I would rather not buy another rail until i can save up for a good one. an alternative is the Tapco intrafuse handguard.. but i don't know much about it.

You'll need to buy a rail of some sort to bolt on (I hear the Midwest Industries ones work great with it), but it should work just fine. Lot cheaper than buying a full quad-rail handguard...

Yes, you can mount the EOTech all the way forward on your receiver and have the battery compartment sit over the moe handguards. Just make sure that it sits properly in the most distal slot. Now, will that give you enough room to add a magnifier? Maybe if you leave off a rear BUIS...

yea it works already without the upper handguard(stock) but I was not sure if the Magpul ones would be low enough.
Oh and no BUIS but its fine.

hey thanks man did not feel like spending more money on another rail system..

still got to get a lower for my other build.
scope is coming in through the mail this week.
a millet dms-1 with Burris AR-P.E.P.R.mount
this is going on my 16 inch midlengh HBAR

Hold the phone for a sec...

I have a 557.223 sight on mine. It is slightly raised to have a lower 1/3 co-witness. It also has a bit of a cut out in the bottom of the battery compartment.

Look at a 512:

Now, compare it to a 557:

Note the notch cut out of the bottom of the battery compartment?

Here's how the 557 sits on my rifle.





You may have a problem with the 512...

Dan and I tried this at GC one day.. without the cut it does not sit flat.

With a 512 you may need a riser, I dont have alot of room between the MOE and my 517.

i rather not spend more money on a quad rail that would hurt the bank plus the added weight. i like to keep things as simple as possible.
