    FREEEEEE AT LAST!!!
i'm looking for a good little pub within close proximity to ft meade. doesn't have to be nice, looking for something with a good selection of world beers, ales, lagers, bitters, and stouts. a nice little hole in the wall would be perfect where they show some rugby and soccer.

there is a strip club between On Target and Jessup if you are on 175. There is big X outside.

There are also a few shopping centers on that road. Or you could just got to Arundel Mills.

Just look at a few, if you look at the cars you'll notice a lot of those DOD stickers on the bottom of the driver's side on the windshield. Maybe you want to avoid those people?

Closest thing is probably DuClaw at Arundel Mills.

There's a couple of other places off of 175 in Columbia too.

There is Victoria's Gastro Pub in Columbia just off Rt 100 on Snowden River Pkwy. It's a tad on the pricey side but is as close to an English pub as you will get around that area. It's about 10 miles from the Fort.

The food is really good. Joe Krywucki is the executive Chef at the pub and he really knows his stuff. He's worked at Savannah, The Charleston and Petit Louis. He was also the Executive Chef at the Iron Bridge Wine Company in Columbia

not really looking for anything mainstream. looking for something like a basement bar or small pub where i can watch rugby and drink some ale, get to know the barkeep and such. worse case scenario is i just buy a nitro kit for my kegerator and get some boddingtons, guinness, or tetleys and call it a night.

Kashmir, thanks for that head's up. That place looks great.

There's also a place in the Lakeside Shopping Center on Stanford that's supposed to have a great selection.

If you want a true basement bar try Howards Subway. There isnt more basement around. And its dirt cheap. Its right near the corner of Hammonds Ferry Rd and Nursery Rd.

If you want lots of beer selection try Rams Head, I think its in powdersmill. Its right off Rt 32. near Rt 1.

I was just there this afternoon. 4 adults - meals all of the way around plus about 10 beers was $51.

    The War Room
    The Irish Channel in Crofton.
Not far from Ft. Meade on the North side of Rt.3
They normaly have European soccer on the TV and Guinness Stout , Blue Moon and some other British beer on tap ...sorry I can't remember which ones.
    Also have dart boards.
I can walk there from my house but to be honest I seldom go because I'm to cheap to pay bar prices for beer.
I had my first Black-n-Blue there.
Half Guinness Stout and half Blue Moon draft ...mmmm :)

I go there with my dad all the time.

It would be a much quieter place than the rockin' wing n' beer joint.

Cheaper too....the only drawback is us tall people have to walk around hunched over cuz' the ceiling is so low....

Ha ha. I love Howards. Their wings are awesome and the place is cheap as anything around. Im down for going at some point, when is good for everyone?
