Got mine but it wasn't exactly what I expected. My other assisted opening Kershaws snap open forcefully like a switchblade. There is no momentum when this knife opens, it needs to be flicked to open to the lock. Perhaps I didn't understand fully what I was purchasing. Very nice knife though.

Yea, the Skyline does not have Speedsafe.....I said that in post #25 but you probably ordered yours before that.
    Also ordered Thursday, received Saturday!

Is the video in the OP not this knife? It seem like it's for this knife but that blade snaps open pretty well. Maybe a drop of oil will loosen it up.

Still a darn fine knife.

It's nice and smooth opening there's just no "umph" behind it.
My Chinese Kershaws open with such force it seems like they should be illegal.

I'm not complaining. I blame my own ignorance.

Any Kershaw with what they call "Speed Safe" will snap open like you're talking about.

Apologies for any confusion. I'm new to knives.

If it does open as cleanly as in the video, I'll be happy.

Its not your fault. Its a good knife for a good price. It just isn't one of their assist open models. If assist open is what somebody wanted then they should have read the description.

With the point at 6 o'clock, my blade opens to about 9:30, and I'm sure with a bit of oil it will open all, or almost all the way.

This is a very good knife at a very good price and light weight to boot.

I can carry this anywhere and if it ever gets confiscated, it's only a $43 ouch and not a huge financial misery if my Spyderco Civilian would get confiscated.

It is without a doubt the smoothest, most flickable knife I've ever owned. It only takes a subtle movement to get it to lock open. Actually it opens so easily I have some concern that it may open in my pocket.

If anyone is looking for a very nice EDC from Kershaw then you need not look further than one of their originals. I am a Kershaw freak and have at least 15 of them sitting around but there is one I continually reach for when I leave the house and that is the Shallot. It fits perfect in the average sized hand and the blade is perfect in regards to length and shape.

It looks like you can pick one up on this guy's site for $40.

For work, I usually take the Blur. It's a tough knife and the serrated blade is more versatile for cutting things.

I took a good run today with the Skyline. It didn't even feel like I was carrying anything at all. So happy :)
