    FREEEEEE AT LAST!!!
I didn't want to come back! I absolutely love it out there.... you could see for miles, air was clean, and you could leave downtown salt lake city and be hiking in 30 minutes.

We did some PT running around the down a few days, went to park city, then did some hiking! flights are pretty cheap out of BWI if anyone is thinking of a nice little vacation.

we did a 6 mile hike, started off as 4 miles, but we forged some of our own trails through the ski area.

we gained about 3500 ft in elevation, all started going up hill. it was about 60ish degrees where we started hiking 7000 ft elevation or so. when we got up to 10500ish feet or so it was in the low 40s upper 30s and the wind was kicking!

i've been out west numerous time and every time it only makes me want to move out there more and more.

I've been to Salt Lake City twice and Boise ID once and I agree, it is truly spectacular out there!

I hear land is cheap. ;) (compared to here that is... :lol2: )

I spent 17 years living there. Very beautiful place and most of my family is still out there, so I make it out there every couple months. Between the hunting and fly-fishing... I'm a happy man!

I went out there many moons ago for a job about an hour north of Salt lake. The people we were working with warned us not to work too late or we'd be caught in "rush hour" we were laughing but they were serious and their "rush hour" consisted of what you might run into on a summer Sunday morning here at 5 am. The alcohol situation there sucks though.

Yeah I went out to Salt Lake City once for work. We all wanted to go out after work for a drink. When we got to the bar they told us we had to be members. :sad20:

yeah, you have to have a membership... i think it's like 5 bucks, and some have guest memberships that are like 1 dollar. That is just for the "bars"... restaurants are free, and you pay a cover for the nightclubs. Beer is 3 point, which is water... however I can outdrink all my old friends!

If you like city life, Utah is probably not the place. If you like the outdoors, I can't think of much better. Utah has it all from mtns and lakes to deserts and heat.

yeh we had to buy a couple $1 memberships, but only 1 person in our group had to buy one. The nightlife wasn't that great, but i prefer a couple small bars and the outdoors.

That's amazing. I was out there in the summer of 2004 with my father. We did about 60 miles in August through Zion, Moab and Escalante. Yeah, it was f*ing hot. I felt like John Wayne hiking through there. Then we hit the buffet in Vegas before flying out.

We also got a 6 pack. Finished it in about 30 minutes and were confused, wondering where the buzz was. We had sampled a 6er of the local brew. Then we looked at the label and remembered that in weirdo mormon land beer is 3%!

    Save the wilderness!!!

Wow, sweet pics! I've been to Utah, and it's nice. Lived in Colorado for 9 years and loved it...lotsa wide open spaces. If you ever fly into Denver airport it's great having a window seat because you can see how there's nothing, and then all of a sudden there's the city.

yeah, i know. wife needs to be within 45 minutes of the airport. stuff changes pretty quick when you get up in the hills.
even if it is rich liberals, 'long as i can drive to real wilderness within an hour or two, i'm happy.
