Duties to include:
• Provide UNIX server/workstation, micro-computer, network and peripheral support. The groups have numerous UNIX-based, MacOS X and Windows-based workstations and servers to facilitate the visualization and analysis of medical images and data.
• Including: installation, optimization, system security, and troubleshooting of various types of UNIX machines including those running SUN Microsystems Solaris, RedHat Enterprise and other flavors of Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows-based workstations. Services also include maintenance and enhancements to the UNIX-based servers and workstations.
• Scientific application programming and interfacing laboratory equipment to computer systems may be required on an as-needed basis.
• Assist in DICOM configuration on users’ desktops with any application that interrogates the Research PACS. Perform all required maintenance to the Research PACS servers, software, hardware and operating system, and organizations.
• Manage the computer servers, hardware (replacement if a failure has happened, upgrades are made or when the system is becoming outdated), software (upgrades to newer versions and bug fixes) including installation of upgrades and patching of the operating system.
• Manage machines and operating systems for licensing to network based software, i.e., RemotEye, IDL, Matlab, MIMvista, and PMOD.
• Provide assistance in moving data to/from various storage devices to areas where it can be processed, stored and backed up.
