What kind of trip? If it's a backpacking/ camping trip than I'd say no, get a dedicated backpack from a company that exclusively does that style.

It would be great for a carry on back back if flying or driving for a trip. No way I would wear that on any sort of hiking expedition. The cheap nylon cover on the pack against the wearer's back is a first clue.

    I'm debating getting one too...

Seem's like a perfect bag for traveling. Anyone have one and want to share?

I'm going to get one so I can be a more legit operator. I'll fill it with ammo, MREs and Snickers.

I have a Maxpedition Condor II that I use for hauling gear, mainly for firewood processing. Its also useful for a day trip for range time.

Haven't used it for anything else

I should have been clearer about my trip- just need for the airport and a software conference in San francisco. Nothing too crazy.

I know guys who use a less of a back pack for flying. Even a cheapie can hold up for 1 trip. Enjoy San Fran. Don't forget a jacket, Gonna be chilly out on the bay.

Well crap, Stop off at Ikea and buy one of there big ass one dollar blue bags and a roll of duct tape. The duct tape is so you can make the bag adjustable to whatever size carry on you need. If your crafty you can even make some shoulder straps with some tape.
