I made a few calls to some of the people who have taken renewal class with me. None have been interviewed and that goes for myself too!

Mine renews for the first time this summer. I'm wondering if anyone renewing since Hogan took over has added self defense and what the response was?

They've completely changed the form. And you MUST fill it out electronically, then print it out and mail it. ("Hand written forms will not be accepted.")

This time, there was no letter (from us) required, like last time. Just a brief explanation of why we needed them.

No invoices were sent this time. Just a letter from the bank.

    Very easy.

Only thing new was the training and qual requirement.

Live scan even took the pictures at no additional charge. The lady who did it was retired FBI. Very nice. Her, Mrs. Safetech and I really hit it off.

The good news is that the renewal arrived today, just a mere 2 weeks from the date I mailed it. The understanding was that the process could take 90-120 days, so perhaps new management is making a difference. No interview and my references were not contacted.
OTOH, my request for an expansion of my restrictions was unsuccessful. Can't have everything in the PRM. At least I have my card for 3 more years.

The renewal is just a renewal. Modification of restrictions is a separate process with a separate fee. $10 if I remember correctly. You should request modification now that you have renewed. If denied go to the informal review.

Just got my renewal. Mailed the application on June 2nd, got the permit on June 18th. That's 16 days door to door and without giving them any of my bank statements and no references were called.
