I bought mine ahead of time. The FFL messed up the paperwork and took over a week to tell me. I could pick it up tonight but its too late. I'm beyond p*ssed off. Can't totally fault the dealer, the last couple of months have been crazy but my only choices right now are to put it on gunbroker (and lose a good chunk of money between transfer fees, selling as used lost sales tax, etc), I could gift it to family out of state or apply for a HQL and wait an unknown amount of time to take possession.

    This is frustrating.

Maybe not impossible if you are legally retired LEO is a card carrying armed forces member but even those guys don't have much reason to go handgun shopping anymore.

1911's, single stack CCW stuff, some revolvers and not much of those are left on the shelves of most shops.

It's pretty depressing to walk in a shop now.

I drive by my favorite gun shop on the way from work. Before Oct 1st there was no where to park. Today there were no customer cars in the parking lot. No handguns for most of us for now.
