From my understanding, if it does NOT have a detachable magazine, it is considered a cash and carry. If it does have a detachable magazine, then it is a regulated firearm.. Can someone verify though. I believe I read this in the FAQ's of the MSP for what is a regulated firearm. I AM NOT A LAWYER, do not take anything I say as 100% correct.

My shotgun came with a sidewinder kit that trakes detachable mags/drums... it was cash amd carry

The thing is that the SKS with detachable mags is specifically listed on the MD list of regulated firearms. Your shotgun probably is not. Detachable mags does not automatically make a firearm regulated.

There were two SKS rifles that were modified to take AK magazines. These are regulated in MD. If the SKS you are looking at uses "duck bill" magazines, it technicaly should be sold as regulated. BUT, if you remove the "duck bill" and install a factory fixed 10 round mag, you would not be regulated.
