I've been shooting some IDPA, with a XDM in 45 ACP. I've been shooting ESP, can I use that gun in CDP and just load the mags at 8 each?

Looking at the rulebook, I'd say yes.
It's semi auto, and .45 acp. As long as the gun, with empty magazine weighs 41 oz. or less, and fits in the IDPA box, you should be fine, unless you've modified it in a way that is against division rules. Stock gun, you should be fine.
