Can you even log in? I wonder if it's a 2 factor authentication where they emailed or texted a temporary code to prove who you are.

Trying to renew my HQL but it keeps asking me for some code.
I have no idea what they want
    any help??
What is the question asking for?
    Name.....
    Address....
    Phone......
    Driver’s License No.....
    Some code?.......

It might help if you state in which context this mystery code is requested.

there is a place to click saying 'I don't know my code' or something like that. it takes you to a page where you add some more info then they email it to you. ask me how I know

As someone who architects computer systems and writes code - this HQL renewal website has to be one of the worst interfaces that I've seen in some time. They had 10 years to build and it appears that it was either off-shored or written by a Introduction to Programming High school class.

Good luck all.. I just renewed.

Did they send you a notification that the HQL was expiring?
Are FFLs still asking for an HQL to purchase? Since MSP was issuing "free" HQLs for people with a carry permit I was wondering if perhaps MD may have decided to simplify things and make a carry permit serve both purposes. (My HQL expires in 2024.)

Yes. They are sending emails for those with HQLs expiring in October. You can also just go to the Licensing Portal and do it if you didn’t get an email.

FFLs have no say, it’s Maryland law. You have to put your HQL number on the 77r.

MD simplify anything to do with guns? Funny guy.

Does MD carry permit allow you to also carry an automatic knifre?
    Yes, as noted by others.

It's important to note that it's only good for MD.

Locally, PA and VA have removed the ridiculous West Side Story anti-switchblade laws, finally. WV allows anything if you're over 21. DC is a no-go for anything over 3" and fuggetabout automatics.

This site has a lot of info, state by state:

I know Ocean City and Baltimore city had "special" restrictions on spring assisted knives such as Kershaw speedsafe (which does not meet the definition of a switchblade because it does not use a button to deploy) and that those restrictions are not subject to State nullification because they are not firearms regulations. Would I be correct in assuming therefore that the switchblade restrictions are still in force in those jurisdictions even for holders of a Maryland carry permit?
