    12/8/2014 Approved/Active - Monday Afternoon

    Waiting on card in mail

    Some stats:

*My name only brings up one item on MD case search (from when I was pulled over doing 38mph in a 30mph zone :sad20:)

*I opted to give them my SSN

*I applied as training exempt with a DD214

*I did not call, email, nor show up in their parking lot with signs.

This will be my first regulated firearm purchase. My father used to be an FFL (20+ years ago). He still has quite a collection and I've never really needed to buy any of my own.

I don't actually know what "stamps" means. :o

I just submitted mine today, training exempt, it was 55 for fingerprinting and 50 to the state for the application fee.

Same for me give or take a few dollars. I think most finger printing places are about the same.. 20.00 plus the 34.00 state fee, or something like that.. plus the 50 for the application

UPDATE: I received my HQL in the mail today :cool16:

That's nine days from start to finish. Six if you only count business days.

I must be on a lucky streak. Quick, tell me what else I should apply for before my luck runs out!!!

Funny, I had my MDC affidavit notarized and mailed Yesterday. Googling "C&R" now. If that's concealed carry, I don't have a G&S reason :(.

C&R is a particular class of Federal Firearms License issued by ATF for Collectors of Curios and Relics. It allows you to acquire C&R firearms in interstate commerce. It's nice if you like to collect guns from 1899 through 1964, but having one is generally bad for your wallet.

Ha, yeah, when I googled it I immediately thought "my wife would definitely leave me...".

Apply for your concealed carry in Maryland. Where it asks for the reason applying, just put "lucky streak". :lol2:

couldn't find an answer to this question

i finally found the weapon i had been looking for.

I am exempt from the training requirement for MD HQL however i do not have my HQL as of yet. Can i Purchase the firearm and have it sent to my ffl, and then go through the HQL process?

Or must the HQL be present before even buying Online?

    thanks in advance

You can purchase anything online, and have it shipped to your FFL. You just can't initiate the paperwork to start the 7 day wait, until you have your HQL.

Some FFLs will let you show a print out from the HQL website, showing your HQL #, to start the paperwork and 7 day wait. Just need to see what your FFL will do. Others will make you wait until the actual card is in hand.

Freaking amazing. I did this on the eMDSP online page. Yesterday the 4th everything but the mental health and hygiene was completed. Today the 5th checklist is gone and shows as active. So now just waiting for them to print and mail the card.

    :party29:

Received my card today, so 12/3 to 12/15 only 12 days total
