HQL Change

I was just looking at the License page and there seems to have been a change. I thought that holders of vailid carry permits were exempt from training and fingerprinting and fees? The page does not list that as an option no:

Handgun Qualification License (Current Wear/Carry Permit Holder)
Required to purchase, rent, or receive a regulated firearm in Maryland
Requires a current Maryland State Police issued Firearms Wear/Carry Permit.

My wife applied and her status has sat there as pending for the last 10 days.

Any one have any insight?

As far as pending for 10 days, MSP is no longer posting that the HQL is completed and providing your license number. I believe they did this to stop people from making purchases with their HQL number before their card arrives. Your wives card should be along soon. I think typically it has been taking 2-3 weeks from the time you submit your application.

Not sure about any change but I can say in my case all I had to do was fill out the HQL information on the MSP website to include my Maryland CCW Permit # and I got my HQL in a few weeks. I did not pay any fee nor did I have to get fingerprints done.
