Be very, very, careful with what you buy when you're gone.

I did a similar thing when I was gone for a year plus. Came home to a room full of stuff which wasn't good since the wife then saw it all in one time/place.

Also, I had a deal or 2 which did not go well but I couldn't really come back on a guy a year after the deal to make it right. He didn't know I had never opened the thing in all that time.

Can get burned and cheeze the wife off if you're not careful.

That said, I'll take 101 please.

Both items I did think through before I made the decision to keep "buying".

The wife is pretty cool with what I do, she just puts the boxes in my "man room" and it will be out of sight, out of mind.

As for defective guns, I did know that was a calculated risk. I may get burned on one or two, but I hope not. Over the years I think I have only had to send back one or two items so I am rolling the dice. I am just tryinig to buy conservative. I will not be purchasing any very high end items I can tell you that.
