My wife found this on the Edgewater Community face book page.

I'm looking for volunteers to feed hay & water ECT. horses AM shift & PM shift in exchange for discounted lessons and Free Ride time please message me for more information located in Davidsonville Maryland. Must have reliable transportation this is all outside all weather volunteer position. Volunteering looks phenomenal on a college & a job application as well.

They aren’t centaurs if they are specifically looking for horse people, but I believe they all take care of horses.

I’ll have to remember that if I’m ever looking for free labor, it’s a “volunteer opportunity”.

'Volunteer' to muck out boxes. Lol.

It's a barter. Physical labor in exchange for use of a horse. Always has been. Rich girl gets horse but is bored with it after a while. Poor girl gets to ride.

Hey, I think it is an excellent opportunity for a young kid to get riding experience plus learn the value of hard work.

Your not wrong but I’ve been around enough boarding places and horse people to know it’d be fine on the bottom line to pay minimum wage to help get people involved in horses.

I’ve been told that part of me is like a horse person.....

    Does that count?

I think Art and his better half three quarters are way to far from Davidsonville.
Yes...and our dance card is already quite full.

This reminded me of a movie I saw as a kid. It was a western comedy. I don't think it was Blazing Saddles. There was a scene between one of the lead bad guys and his two bumbling henchmen where the funny revolved around a misunderstanding of the phrase, "Take care of _____(somebody)_____," as in providing care for vs. eliminating. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? I think they were going to "take care" of somebody's wife.

Anyway...this thread made me think of that. We are not currently equipped to "take care of horses" in either sense of the phrase ;)

I couldn't find the post. Waiting for the good horses to come back from FL. My last paid lesson was $70 for 45 mins. onboard ... thats a lot of stalls! Actually in charge of maintenance @ what they say is the best facility between NY and FL. If only I could figure out how to put AC in the indoor .... hmm any HVAC guys here? actually need a plumber.

    Thanks John and Jon.
Send me a link, it is always fun to show up for a beginner lesson, act like a fool then then take off and ride a perfect trip on their lesson horse.

Grooming arenas today. haha and as I type that I get a text saying the Emus are loose again! ugh, Living the dream!

LOL! I saw pics of the loose Emus on on the Lothian Facebook page this morning. Apparently, it’s not their first time escaping :D
