"Decatur County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating along with the FBI and other agencies. " :sad20:

Do ya think any other agencies would come to our homes after a home invasion other then to question us about our firearms . :mad54:

That aside , at least someone in that house had some sense .

Glad they came out of the situation safe and unharmed, good on the grandson for protecting his family, he likely saved their lives.

For those that are curious about his politics, he's relatively pro-gun, and was a sponsor of a bill to commend the NRA for the Eddie Eagle program, and make it available for teachers. So no hypocrite here.

    from ontheissue.com

Voted YES on prohibiting suing gunmakers & sellers for gun misuse. (Apr 2003)
Voted NO on decreasing gun waiting period from 3 days to 1. (Jun 1999) *
Rated A by the NRA, indicating a pro-gun rights voting record. (Dec 2003)
National cross-state standard for concealed carry. (Jan 2009)
Teach kids Eddie Eagle GunSafe's lifesaving message. (May 2010)
Ban gun registration & trigger lock law in Washington DC. (Mar 2007)

*HR2122 would have required background checks for all private transfers, and created a national registration for any NICS applicant using photos and fingerprint identification while reducing the maximum ammount of time a firearm background check could be placed on hold from 72 hours to 24.

Bet the hard core Dems are going to get their panties in a bunch over this. I hope that he doesn't get flack from the party for it.

In Iowa, appparently you "fetch" a shotgun. In MD I wonder if they would have just "grabbed" a shotgun.
