    Amongst the Deplorables, SC.

In a year when a lot of semiauto manufacturers are coming out with mag fed lever guns, lever gun veterans Henry Repeating Arms ironically made the opposite move at SHOT Show 2023 Industry Day at the Range: They brought an ambidextrous 9mm semiautomatic carbine. The new Henry Homesteader 9mm 16 inch barreled carbine with ghost ring sights, a traditional wooden stock, and the provision to mount an optic on the receiver.

The aftermarket accessory providers could really go to town with that: stocks and magazines especially.

Hmmm.... "Can take Glock, SIG, or M&P magazines..."

    Hmmmm.... $959 ...

    Huh.

My imeadate gut reaction is the opposite !

As pictured , they are heavily reminiscent of the Winchester 1907/ 09 carbines .

You know , the ones I always cite in conversations/ debate , that what the other side incorrectly calls Evil Assault Weapons are Not something new , but have been in common use for 115 years .

But I'll have to wait for the street price to moderate a little first before running out .

Prettier than the Ruger, but more expensive and not a takedown model. Also doesn't have the Ruger's adjustable LOP.

Reminds me of a Marlin Camp 9 but I wish Henry would remind me of my old Camp 45 instead.

Pricey but would make a nice truck or trunk carbine

Looks nice but I would pay more money for a locked breach or even delayed blowback action.

No desire to mount a can on a blowback gun.

    Very much reminiscent!

Straight from the John Dillinger era with Thompson foregrip modification.

The M1907 Winchester wielded by Homer Van Meter was just one of several remarkable conversions Hyman Lebman built for well-funded clients.

I think they should stick to what they know best. Maybe come out with a Model 92 clone or something.

This is the ONLY Henry that I'm remotely interested in. I could totally dig this done up as a Win 1907 or "mini BAR" type build...

Jiggled the display one at Henry’s booth in PA. Such a cool looking toy. Genius idea from Henry. It’s obviously a classic Ruger copy of the marlin camp copy but from a valued company. Nothing innovative but a beautiful gun!

So I had to ask, $780/($827 OTD) at the toy store yesterday. Nothing in stock at the distributor yet..
