OH passed a new law, requiring fluorescent orange in toys, and bb guns. One would think no big deal, right?

Some dude painted a 380 pistol red, and was arrested for it. The color was no where close to fluorescent orange. It was a righteous bust though because of the drugs found.

Will Ohians, not be allowed to have pink handguns next?

Your title is misleading. He was arrested for the drugs. There's no mention of him facing charges for the gun's color. That said, it does prove how pointless those laws are (in case anyone was in doubt).

Does this mean competition grade air guns need red plastic tips?

This one's on sale for $2,289.95 but I guess it's banned in Ohio.

I shot a starling with an airsoft once.
How it got that airsoft, I have no idea.

Meanwhile, the kids will remove the red tips from their airsofts, and the crooks can paint their Hi Points red. They can even do this:

I don't think there's an easy answer. You can't legislate that "guns look like guns and toys look like toys". It would make more sense to just make it illegal to commit crimes.

Ruger just released a blue and a pink finish for their LCP line. One can cerakote their firearm to whatever color they want. Making such a law could probably be countered on 1A grounds as well.

Yeah, I followed the original title as reported.

If anyone watched the video. People as well as politicians were not happy that manufactrers were making guns in colors besides black, and polished metal.

They all want guns to be evil looking.
