Nice Pig, please give more details..........

Use a 30 caliber or higher rifle. After taking my pig, the Lead Guide said it was only the 2nd hog taken by slug at their place. The other one was also taken using a Lightfield slug - either I am very lucky or that slug is one heck of a round!

So 1,000+ or - a few start to finish is more than enough? Do they quick freeze and box it for you once it's butchered? How many lbs was the pig?

They do a basic process there, offering sausage, roasts and chops. If you have a butcher in mind, they will quarter it for transport. The morning we departed, the guides packed the processed packages in plastic bags and packed the coolers in ice. No one in our group did ribs.

We did take a few of the livers since they are the best catfish bait per the guide's experience - better than chicken livers since the pig livers stays on the hooks better.

These guys will do whatever you want with your hog - meat, head and/or hide.

I have shot hogs with 12 gauge slug, .308, & 300aac. Within 75 yards there is not difference in effect in a heart lung shot. Its only when you get out to 100 yard plus + that's where a .30 cal makes a difference. Nice hog at 150lbs, makes awesome ribs at that size and the meat is not to strong of the wild boar taste that turns off some people.
