I'm a Glock-certified armorer until June this year. I took Glock's course to become "certified" but--I had already learned everything they taught in the course from PTOOMA's Glock manual.

Yes, it is easy. And, if you experience trouble, there are plenty of folks willing to help.

A fellow student at a class I recently took had a self mod-ed Glock ... it was no longer reliable

I've heard about the PTOOMA Manual. I guess it doesn't matter that the material is a bit dated?

Not sure if this is appropriate for this thread but have been wondering if it is possible to swap a slide assembly for a Glock 20 onto Glock 21 frame?

Apparently, you can. On my tablet or I'd link the vid, but check out "Glock 21 10mm conversion" on Youtube.

    Yes, it's possible.

I've been thinking about converting my G21 to a G20.

You 'can' convert to G20 by changing the barrel (some say that the stock G20 barrel will work, some say get a conversion barrel), most 'experts' suggest a 22 lb recoil spring assembly (aka/ RSA) and possibly either re-contouring the extractor, or swapping out the extractor for a G20 extractor.
    Also, changing magazine(s) to G20.

The only part on my G17 that is factory is the slide and the frame, and even those were modified. Pretty simple to work on, the only thing I didn't do myself was lower the ejection port, and cerakote it.

And why would you lower the ejection port on a Glock?

Thanks for the feedback. I already bought the slide assembly and mags from gunbroker. I was just leery of doing some damage. (To me and/or the Glock)
