Anybody heard of this? 20,000 liberty lovers moving to NH for "creation of a society in which the maximum role of government is the protection of life, liberty, and property... to expand individual rights and free markets, and a restoration of constitutional federalism".

NH has pretty good gun laws compared to the rest of the country. Maybe I'll fine tune my resume and start applying up in New Hampshire. New England does tend to be quite liberal though.

I think what they are trying to do is create a "micro-nation". Unfortunately, the federal government does not recognize the legal existence of micro-nations withing the borders/territories of the USA. They have been recognized as independent nations by the UN and other organizations, but if they are withing the confines of the US, they have all federal, state, and local laws still applicable to them even if they claim micro-nation status.

A few years ago the creators of Pirate Bay attempted to create a micro-nation on an abandoned oil rid in the North Atlantic to house their servers and prevent prosecution by the MPAA, RIAA, and Interpol.

I don't believe this is their intention. They are just trying to inject enough liberty minded individuals into the state to swing the state political structure towards the Libertarian spectrum. They are doing this in NH because it is a pretty liberty minded state to start with and has the highest number of state representatives per capita so your representative is truly a neighbor and accessable. It is a pretty cool concept. Here's an interview I heard one of their leaders do: http://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/carla-gericke-free-state-project

They also host the Liberty Forum, which is coming up in a few weeks and has some great speakers. http://freestateproject.org/libertyforum

NH is one the states I would potentially move to. I love the Freestate project and the idea of having states compete with each other for citizens and ideas. Let's see what works, freedom or tyranny.
