I have a 1 acre piece of property that has a lot of leaves.

Last years batch has been sitting in our back yard all winter.

I'm going to haul it to the dump.

But if someone wants it, it makes great natural fertilizer or mulch.

    Free for the hauling :)

You're welcome to it if you can haul it away :)

I have no use for it this year.

Our entire back yard needs a bit of clean up so i wont be able to use it for anything. The previous owners pretty much let the back yard grow for 25 years so i have plenty to keep me busy.

I have the same issue, but on a smaller scale. I forgot to pick up one of the (biggest) piles in the fall. The other day, I decided to move it off to the side before the (non) snow storm. When I did the idea hit me to build a compost bin.

Just out of curiosity, do grass clippings make good compost too?

No intention of adding food scraps. Don't want to attract rats and other critters.

 That's what I do. Turns it into tiny pieces that do a great job fertilizing the grass.

hehe yeah i got plenty of that in my yard.

first year at this property so i'm hoping the grass will grow back through with the amount we were able to rake off.

there is still a big pile in the back yard that we had to rake off it though :)

apparently grass clippings + leaves make for great compost.

however i dont mess with the grass, i use a mulching blade on my mower and there isnt a need to keep track of it.
