Command Sgt. Maj. Martin Barreras was a real class act, never missing an opportunity to give some shit to us "lowly Navy shooters". He'd say it with a grin so you know he was messing with us, he was delighted to see more folks come out for matches.
I didn't know him as well as I would have liked to. At least 30 years in uniform: started Marines then must have figured out he'd promote faster with the other folks
